debut album from Oksanat is also the first album release by Grom
Records but if it will be a boy we will see. The first thing that
strikes your eyes is the whole design of this release from which we can
come to the conclusion that the releaser did very hard work so the
release can appear top-notch but still ours (Serbian). The big objection
here goes to the mixing of Cyrillic (logo of the band and the album
name) and Latin (the lyrics and everything else) which isn't quite
understandable to me taking in account that here we have patriotic
oriented band whose lyrics are inspired by Serbian historical heritage
and the music is abundant of Byzantine-Slavic motives. When on top of
that you add black metal in the style of Dimmu Borgir and Covenant you
can get more clear music picture of this duo from Obrenovac (city in
Serbia). Oksanat has everything that decorates the upper two mentioned
bands. Multi layered keyboard, ultra speed rhythm section with simple
pruning guitar riffs and complex song structures. The music is rich and
epic but if on that we add the somewhat bad production you can easily
loose yourself in all those polyphonic sounds and make your head a total
mess. A lot of effort is invested into this album and a lot more ideas
put in it, but all those weak points make this album not really an
enjoying experience. I would also reproach the vocal which is too high
and screamy but thanks to the bad production it is left somewhere in the
depths of the mix covered by the music. Oksanat is one of the more
creative Serbian extreme metal bands but that kind of recommendation
wont help them in their path to tunnel through to the world metal scene
