"Well this is a full length release from a band I have never had any dealings with before, Blood Feud are a death/thrash band from Iceland and have been active since 2004 although this is only their second release and first full length one, hardly prolific and maybe that’s why I have never come across them before, my loss folks but that has all changed with this release. You get ten tracks on this album clocking in at more than fifty five minutes so it’s a decent return for your money. It kicks off with a cracking track “Myrkvi” which I like a lot, some really good guitar work on it, but that is true of the whole album, some top notch work from Stefan ably backed up by Bodvar who also does the vocals, and they veer from a typical thrash style clean vocals to some deep growly type death vocal style from bass player Oskar, and it works well. I would say this outfit are more of the thrash genre with a dash of death thrown in and it works very well as this album gallops along at a fair old lick. The band all play very well indeed with the guitars and vocals ably backed up by Oskar on bass and drummer Jakob, all very tight and excellent musicians. The playing isn’t just a homage to old school thrash as it takes it that little bit further with the death metal touches and makes it a sound for now not a retro sound. Not a bad track on this album it is all good stuff, my favourites are definitely “Myrkvi” which gets the album off to a cracking start and then “Infected Prophecy” which is another tour de force in thrash style metal, really well played and some neat changes in the tempo while retaining a real cracking galloping riff throughout. Like I say though there is not a bad track on this album it is a real treat to listen to. Well if you are a thrash fan, or for that matter just a metal fan of any genre, I would certainly recommend this album by a band who are really tight and well worth checking out. It is a cracking album well worth getting your grubby mitts on, you will not be disappointed people!"@ ______________________________ FLAC |
