Break The Balance was a band of four 16/17 yr old high school friends who loved to hang out and shred metal together. Founded in 2007, guitar players Dj Gough and Matt Buck had been jamming together for a couple years and decided they wanted to put a band together. They began to practice with friend and drummer Bryce Tunget to get something going and after months of practice and looking for the rest of the band they were finally a four-piece after a good friend Jake Josephian filled in the remaining position as bassist.

That summer in 2007 before their senior year in high school they started gigging and had a huge success with live shows starting from their very first show. Break The Balance caught a lot of people off guard with their stage presence, especially because of their age. "A group of four 16 yr old kids that looked like they'd been up their doin it for 5 years or more" With guitar players DJ and Matt keeping their audiences entertained by their usual "everything from head banging and windmilling their long hair in synchronization to their KSE influenced improvised pinch harmonics and old school maiden sounding harmonies". Combine that with Bryce's shredding double bass and Jakes solid bass lines, watching BTB back in the day was sure never to be entertaining.

By Oct 2007 the band was slowing down because of the members being busy starting as seniors in high school school and with their last show being on Halloween 07 BTB ended up splitting up.
