Canker it is created in 1990 in Granada, with musicians originating of
other local bands like Apocalipsis and Death Noise. At those moment,
the band was composed by: Miguel Robles on drums, Juan Miguel to the
bass guitar, Paco Clemot to the guitar and Miguel Hernández to the
guitar and voice.
After several performances, they record its first demo, it..ll be the
only one, composed by five songs, of which they were sold near 2000
copies. That same year, Munsters Touring assumes the representation of
the band and it organizes several concerts with foreign band like Devil
Dogs or Andiron.
In 1992 participate in the IV Villa de Bilbao, obtaining the first
position. As consequence
they act again in May of that same year in La Casilla de Bilbao with
the bands: The Gun and Su Ta Gar.
In 1993 Canker is caught by the company Romiral D and they record what
will be its first album called Physical and produced by Colin
Richardson. The mixed of the recording it was realized by Tomas
Skogsberg in The Sunlight Studios of Sweden. Later Canker discharged
with great triumph together to Los Suaves in the festival of
Juveandalus and in the V Esparrago Rock, sharing stage with bands like
Def Con Dos, Pleasures Fuckers, Legion, La Polla Records and Toy Dolls.
In January of 1995 Canker realize a tour with Su Ta Gar by Andalucia,
Pais Vasco and France, with great acceptance of public. In March of
that same year the band displays the album in Madrid together to the
band Hamlet, that it was a triumph of espectators and critics. To the
few months Canker participate again in which it will be the VII
Esparrago Rock, with bands like Sonic Youth, Terrorvision, Psilicon
Flesh, Pata Negra, Los Hermanos Dalton, etc. After several concerts by
all the country presenting the album, they are required in October to
act together to Death in Madrid, like invited band.
In 1996 they record their second album, its called: Exquisites
Tenderness. The technical evolution that the band has experienced is
reflected in these nine songs, which are full of speed changes and dark
melodys that composed tracks full of nuances.
The album recording was realized by Jose Sanchez in the Producciones
Peligrosas Studios in Granada. It was paid for the band.
The display of the second album was in the Sala Space of Granada,
attended it more than 500 people, with a great criticism success in all
local and national mediums. In summer of 1997 they had the chance of
discharged all their potential in the Doctor Music Festival, in the
Pirineos, together to bands like Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Sydney
O’Connor, Dover, Lag Wagon, Hamlet, etc. The festival organization
included one songs of the second album, Out of Control in the
collective record of the festival.
Just a short time later, they act together to Kreator, Dimmu borgir and
Krisium in Vigo. A few months later shared stage with Cradle of Filth,
Manowar and Napalm Death in the II Barbarian celebrated in Jerez de la
Frontera, Cadiz.
Since that moment the band make a shutdown of four years in that each
member of the band follow different ways, untill the summer of 2002, in
that Miguel Hernández rebuild the band with new components. Raúl
Márquez on drums and Antonio León to the bass guitar. After several
performances the band decide to get into the studio in October of 2004
and in March of 2005 had concluded what would be their third album, it
called Earthquake, at wait to the launch with some company.
