"DAMAGE CONTROL, announced during 2005, is a high profile union involving former MAGNUM, DAVID BYRON band, NOTORIOUS and LIFE guitarist ROBIN GEORGE and bassist PETE WAY of UFO, WAYSTED and OZZY OSBOURNE repute. A debut album, billed 'Raw', was scheduled for release through Majestic Rock Records. George had also made his name as a producer, manning the desk for MARSHALL LAW, QUARTZ, WITCHFINDER GENERAL, WRATHCHILD and DIAMOND HEAD amongst others, as well as recording demos with both ROBERT PLANT and PHIL LYNOTT. In January 2006 the duo was joined by drummer Chris Slade, the distinctive bald headed veteran also holding a prior tradition with AC/DC, URIAH HEEP, ASIA, MANFRED MANN, 100 PROOF and THE FIRM. March saw the addition of THE QUIREBOYS singer SPIKE to the group's ranks. DAMAGE CONTROL worked up album tracks during December. Chris Slade put in a notable one off performance as part of THE BIG BALL STARS, alongside vocalist ROBIN McAULEY, of McAULEY SCHENKER GROUP, FAR CORPORATION and SURVIVOR, guitarist John Corabi, of MÖTLEY CRÜE, UNION and RATT, keyboard player Teddy Zig-Zag, of GUNS 'N ROSES, plus the RATT credited Robbie Crane on bass and Brent Woods from the VINCE NEIL band, in a live set on January 27th 2007 at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California. Chris Slade joined ECOTONIC, a band unit featuring Jason Ebs, former member of the PETER CRISS band, and vocalist Janea Chadwick." | ||
