Биография: Шведская команда-долгожительница "Grave" за всю свою карьеру выработала саунд, взятый за основу многими молодыми коллективами дэт-жанра. Музыканты начали работать еще в 1986 году (тогда группа называлась "Corpse"). За пять лет они настрогали несколько демок, а дебютный альбом вышел только в 1991-м. "Into the grave" сделал команду одним из наиболее брутальных актов, а серия европейских и американских концертов закрепила за "Grave" этот статус. Альбом 1992 года "You'll never see…", активно расхваливаемый критиками, имел более "чистый" саунд и был рассчитан на более широкую аудиторию. К сожалению, бас-гитарист Йонас Торндал не принимал участия в его создании, поскольку напряженный гастрольный график заставил его покинуть ряды "Grave". После бесплодных попыток найти ему замену музыканты решили продолжать дело втроем, а Йорген Сандстром переключился с гитары на бас. В 1993-м коллектив подвел черту первого этапа своего существования, выпустив ретроспективный EP "…And here I die… Satisfied", куда вошли новые, редкие и ремикшированные треки. После альбома "Soulless" Сандстром перебрался в "Entombed" а вокальные обязанности взял на себя Ола Линдгрен. Оставшись вдвоем, Ола и Йенсса все же записали один студийник и один концертник и даже провели полноценные гастроли. Однако по окончании тура в деятельности "Grave" наступила продолжительная пауза. Дэтовые работы возобновились в 1999 году, но поначалу дело продвигалось медленно. Лишь после того, как в команду вернулся Йонас Торндал, а вслед за ним к коллективу присоединился Фредрик Исакссон из "Therion", процесс пошел значительно быстрее. В 2001-м "Grave" отыграли первый за пять лет концерт, состоявшийся в стокгольмском "Хард Рок Кафе". Ну, а на следующий год музыканты порадовали своих поклонников альбомом с подходящим для такого случая названием "Back from the grave". Часть тиража сопровождалась бонус-диском с записями трех классических демо периода 1988-1989 годов. После гастролей в поддержку пластинки команду покинул один из ее основателей, Йенса Паульссон, решивший посвятить себя семье и другой работе. Новым барабанщиком группы был назначен Кристофер Баркенсьо ("Kaamos"), дебютировавший в роли "могильщика" на фестивале "March metal meltdown" в Нью-Джерси. Однако Крис недолго продержался в рядах "Grave" и после гастролей сосредоточился на работе в "Kaamos", уступив место Пелле Экегрену. Свое новое творение группа решила записывать в студии "Abyss" (все предыдущие релизы "Grave" готовили в "Sunlight studios"). Результатом совместного творчества музыкантов и продюсера Петера Тагтгрена стал диск "Fiendish regression", вышедший на "Century media" в 2004 году. Помимо нового материала на альбом попали кавер классики "Saint Vitus" ("Burial at sea") и старая "могильная" вещица, "Autopsied", датируемая 1989 годом. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Grave started in 1986 under the name Corpse and changed it to Grave in 1988. They recorded various demos during 1986–1991 and including some singles and EPs as well. Their debut full-length album Into the Grave was released in 1991, which has become a death metal classic over the years.The release led to a European and American tour.In 1992, the band released their second album You'll Never See..., which was a continuation of the style played on their debut. However, bassist Jonas Torndal, left the band as a result of his increasing dislike for touring. After unsuccessfully trying to find a replacement, the group made a decision to become a trio, as guitarist Jörgen Sandström switched to bass. A European tour followed with compatriots Dismember and headliner Morbid Angel. Soulless - their third album, released in 1994 - showed a somewhat different style, blending some more experimentation and industrial tones into the death metal of the previous album. Sandström departed 1996 and Lindgren took over the vocals on their fourth album Hating Life. This album progressed further into the style started on Soulless. Another European and American tour followed, which resulted in the live album Extremely Rotten Live. Thereafter, the band more or less split up. 1999, was the first year the members rejoined and started rehearsing, nevertheless the band took it slow. Ultimately this led to a warm-up European tour and a new album in 2002. Back from the Grave which was a return to the style played on their second album, You'll Never See..., with minimal influence from the Soulless. As a bonus a CD was added with three demo recordings. The 2004 album Fiendish Regression saw the departure of drummer Paulsson, who was replaced by Coercion drummer Ekegren. This album showcased more aggressive and generally somewhat faster songs. Touring followed through Europe in support of Cryptopsy. Two years later, in 2006 As Rapture Comes was released further increasing the overall speed and aggression. Noteworthy is the inclusion of the Alice in Chains cover of "Them Bones". In support of the album the band will tour with Dismember, Vital Remains, Demiricous, and Withered through the US and Canada. In November 2006 they toured Europe as part of the Masters of Death tour, with Unleashed, Dismember, Entombed and Exterminator. In September, Grave are due to embark on a tour with Nile for their album Ithyphallic, in Europe. Original | |
