Koen: "Lich King is the best thrash metal band in all of history and we've come to smash in your faces with flaming spiked clubs that were forged in the fires of Heck" (quote taken from the bands biography). Well, I agree on the fact that Lich King is capable of selling themselves in a proper manner, but they're certainly not the best thrash metal band in all of history. This honour goes to more established bands in heavy metal history of course.

I suppose we don't have to take a quote like "Gary Holt took a listen and his ears burst into flame. Billy Milano began weeping as he listened, and he threw himself from a bridge in despair. Jeff Hanneman listened to BUT ONE Lich King song and shook his head, then broke his guitar over one knee. He walked into a Staples and began filling out an application" too seriously as well. On the other hand, (musically) this band is a serious thrash machine that will hunt your ass down!

I will define this still unsigned band as a sort of a cross between Eighties Bay Area thrash metal and the more recent retro thrash metal movement and these ten tracks (including cover versions of Vio-Lence's 'Bodies On Bodies' and Exodus' 'A Lesson In Violence') are atrociously violent and drenched in razor-sharp riffing, bestial screaming and heavy pounding rhythms. I love it when an unexpected good CD thrashes my hearing for good! Would you like one as well? Go visit Lich King's homepage where it's available.
