Band leader Vivien Lalu (Hubi Meisel) has gathered a killer line up for this debut release in Joop Wolters on guitar, the mighty Ryan Van Poederooyen (Devin Towsend Band) on drums, Martin LeMar on vocals and Russell Bergquist (ex-Annihilator) on bass. Oniric Metal combines excellent production values with strong melodies and exciting dynamics.
Пресс-релиз Irond Ltd. ------------ Vivien Lalu is one of the most promising new composers and
musicians I`ve heard in the Progressive music genre lately. With
Oniric Metal he shows big talents, both as a musician and songwriter.
The young musician has already got attention as
composer for Hubi Meisel and his other project Shadrane's Neurastasia.
With help from known musicians as Joop Wolters
(Arabesque, Hubi Meisel), Ryan Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Band ),
Martin Le Mar (Tomorrow`s Eve) and
Russell Bergquist (Annihilator), this album stands forward as one of
the best albums in the Progressive Metal genre so far this
year. It took me a bit of time to get to know the songs, but they have
gradually become better and better and are now stuck in
my head. Musically Lalu plays Progressive Rock/ Metal with dreamy and
heavy parts. The keyboards and different samples
from Vivien are also playing a big role in the music, together with the
other superb played instruments on the album. With
YesterDayMan who opens Oniric Metal, we are taken into a landscape of
music filled with both dreamy and aggressive
parts with great instrumental performing. Vocalist Martin Le Mar has a
big voice in likes of Jorn Lande, and lifts the songs with it. Wolven
Eyes sounds like a mix of Modern Hard Rock and Progressive Rock, the
guitars in the verses has a very modern sound, while the song slows
down round the beautiful chorus parts. Windy is a more ballad-like song
with very fine singing from Martin, you will also discover small
technical guitar solos from Joop Wolters in this song and huge playing
from Vivien. Night In Poenari is the most aggressive song on the album
and still after lot of listening it sounds a bit confusing to me. Then
it`s different with my favorite, the ten minute long Timestop, who is a
song who describes the different styles from Lalu in a perfect way,
with both soft dreamy parts and more progressive advanced parts. I`m
convinced that we will be hearing more from Vivien Lalu after this
album, so check out Lalu now!!

Большой друг главного редактора ведущего журнала о тяжёлой музыке Dark City немец Hubi Meisel (Book Of Reflections, Maeve Of Connacht, Dreamscape, Triple X) //http://www.soundcheck.ru/ Mixed and produced by Hubi Meisel. | |
