At the year of 1990, Ricardo Santos and Dinis Costa got together and after recruiting Verнssimo Pereira and Pedro Rodrigues, they started the hostilities, with a band acclaimed by the majority of people, as the ex-libris of Azorean metal.

After looking for a name to the project, they decided that it should be, Morbid Death. It was given all topics, for good and many years of Heavy Metal, such as a revolution of mentality, on the beautiful Atlantic Islands of Azores.

During the next 10 years, Morbid Death had suffered mutations, with some changes of line-up, but nothing could stop the pioneers of the most alternative azorean music. With this purpose, a little was necessary to wait, that Morbid Death had achieved the status of "living legendary”, on the archipelago of Azores.Also, at that time, they were anxious to show to the rest of the world, their music. They released 2 demos, "Nomad”-1993 and "Shameless Faith”-1995. But, in 1997, they released there debut album "Echoes of Solitude”, having the particularity of being the first azorean album released professionally. It was in 1997, that the band established its line-up with Ricardo Santos (lead vocals/bass guitar), Paulo Bettencourt (guitar), Pedro Guerreiro (keyboards), Rui Frias (guitar) and Pedro Andrade (drums).

In 2000, the band unifies forces with Sea Spirit Productions, with the purpose to achieve new goals. It was necessary to rejuvenate the concept and attitude of the band, reconsidering its philosophy, in order to justify the status that was earned and most of it all, to open new barriers on the upcoming years.

In the beginning of 2002, the band allies with Recital Records to release "Secrets”- second album.

The next years can be very proliferous. A new dynamic, spirit and azorean way of life, based on the most genuine of Azores that can be revealed - the Volcanos, the Lava, the Fire and Sea- all interiorized side by side with the most alternative music made in Azores.

Ох уж эти испаноязычные наполовину латиносы, ох уж их вечный быстрый и как бы жизнеутверждающий дум.... Morbid Death – это пятёрка здоровых мужиков из Португалии, исполняющая быстрый готик-дум в духе утяжелённого Moonspell в смеси со старыми вещами Paradise Lost с характерным последней команде вокалом – не везде, правда, но местами, – и ещё чёрт-те знает чем – пожалуй, что-то от хэви, какая-то его весёлость, и что-то от современного готик-попа типа Daylight Torn, плюс старенький дэт-дум Dark. Десять трэков мелодичных клавишно-симфоничных тяжёленьких, но вовсю весёлых и оптимистичных гот-думовых пассажей, профессионально аранжированных и записанных и разнообразных в рамках куплетно-припевной стилистики, выбранной группой за основу своего творчества. Всё гладко так, миленько... Но скучно :(. Уж не знаю, как Вам, а мне такая музыка кажется миллиард раз уже сыгранной, хотя и не могу припомнить ни одного похожего проекта. Но раз что-нибудь встаёт, значит оно кому-то надо, а поэтому уверен, что и у такого релиза найдутся поклонники. Итог: мелодичный весёлый готик-дум в быстром темпе с одинаковыми для всех песен скрипично-атмосферными клавишными. Hе ожидал от португальской молодой формации такого отменного релиза, несмотря на архаичность направления, в котором они творят. Солидный, творческий подход, использование принародненных мотивов, а так же элементов из классики по-типу из барокко, могут выдвинуть со следующего релиза в элиту Gothic/Doom сцены.

Hавороченные гитарные пассажи в духе Atheist, гулкий бас, вокал в духе раннего Moonspell, повышенная мелодичная основа. Местами случаются яростные срывы с Grind’овыми бласт-битами, после чего вновь на бушующем море наступает тотальный штиль, поддерживаемый почти симфо-клавишными партиями. Hн-да, прочитав мною написанное, сам я только осознал, какой контрастный релиз только прослушал. Великолепно, только это и остается сказать в окончании.
