Sadness began as a black metal band in the late 80s or very early 90s. After a first demo bassist Eric left the band to join Alastis. The band got to tour in Poland with Behemoth, Asgard, Cold Passion and Limbonic Art thanks to signing with the Polish label Mystic Records. Their album "Danteferno" was produced by former Celtic Frost bass player Martin E. Ain. In 1997 guitarist Chiva released his solo album "Oracle Morte". The new material presented on their last album (which mostly consisted of old demo tracks) was a lot more electronically influenced with a very gothic or industrial atmosphere, further enhanced by the bound woman on the cover.
