VREID, так называется новая группа, в которую вошли бывшие члены
WINDIR: Hváll (bass), Steingrim (drums) and Sture (vocals, guitar),
заключила контракт на три альбома с Tabu Recordings. Дебютный альбом
'Kraft' Музыка описывается, как смесь WINDIR, норвежского black-metal и MOTORHEAD.
English
Vreid is a black metal band that was formed after Windir broke up,
following the death of lead singer and founder Valfar. The band was
formed in 2004 by three former Windir members and a new guitarist; Ese.
Translated from Norwegian into English, Vreid's name means "Wrath".
Although Vreid incorporates many elements of Windir's music,
they have fused the desolate atmospherics of black metal with thrash
metal to create an original sound. They released their first album,
"Kraft" in 2004. Their second album, Pitch Black Brigade, was released
by Tabu Recordings on March 27, 2006. The band released their third
album, I Krig, through Indie Recordings on May 8, 2007 in Norway. The
release date for the rest of the world is June 4, 2007.

-------------
After the tragic death of Valfar, the rest of the Windir members decided to end Windir, and put their music into other projects.
Hváll formed a new band, the new band is named Vreid. Vreid is a
Norwegian word for wrath. Vreid consists of the 3 Windir members Hváll
(bass), Steingrim (drums), Sture (vocals/guitar) and a new guitarist
named Ese. Ese has been a close friend of the Vreid members for years,
and he was co-engineer on Windir..s ..Likferd ..album.
Hváll wrote most of the material for the debut album entitled
..KRAFT... The music was described as a natural continuance of the
music Hváll wrote for Windir & Ulcus, but with its own personal
sound. A mixture of the ambience of Windir the, the rawness of
Norwegian black metal and the rocking groove of Sepultura, Metallica
& Motorhead is a fitting description of the music of Vreid. The
lyrics are in both in Norwegian and English.
Vreid signed a deal with Tabu recordings for 3 albums. The
debut album was recorded during the summer of 2004 in Hváll..s new
studio; Studio 1184, and was mixed at Subsonic Society Studio
(Susperia, Windir, Red Harvest, Darkthrone etc..) in Oslo. Release was
4th of October 2004 in Norway, and 18th of October worldwide under
exclusive license to Candlelight Records.
Vreid did a Norwegian tour in October 2004 together with
Enslaved, and played at Wolf Lair..s 5 year anniversary festival in
Oslo one month later.
In February 2005 Vreid joined forces with Enslaved once again,
this time to plunder and rampage the European scene. A very successful
tour included 29 shows in major European cities like: London, Paris,
Barcelona, Milano, Budapest and Prague, before performing a stunning
show at the famous Inferno Fest in Oslo the 25th of March.
Hvàll had already written some new material, and in June the
band started rehearsing for a new album. They decided to start
recordings in September. Again (of course) they entered Studio 1184,
for the recording of Vreids second opus, ..PITCH BLACK BRIGADE... After
3 months of hard (??) work, the band finally could bring the new beast
over to Lars Klokkerhaugs Subsonic Society Studio for the final touch
of magic. Release was 10th of April in Norway, 24th of April in Europe
and 16th of May in the US.
After a successful release-party at Rock-In Metal Club in Oslo
in April, a Norwegian tour followed, with concerts in Sogndal, Bø,
Sandnes and Bergen, including a performance at Enslaveds 15th
anniversary at Garage. Next up was ..Oslo Musicfest.. in early June,
and one week later Vreid co-headlined the ..Pagan Nights Festival.. in
Keltendorf / Ringelai in Germany. Vreid travelled to Holland and
Belgium in July, for their first headlining tour. This small tour also
included a performance at the "Nevelfest Open Air" in Merksem.
