В 1980-х VENGEANCE были самой известной голландской хард-роковой
группой, а на гитаре в ней в то время играл Арьен Люкассен
(Arjen Lucassen), ныне лидер AYREON. Группа несколько раз
распадалась и возрождалась, а ее текущая инкарнация возникла
в конце 2005 года, когда гитарист Баренд Корбуа (Barend Courbois),
вокалист Леон Гуви (Leon Goewie) и продюсер и композитор Михаэль
Восс, плюс еще несколько гостевых музыкантов (участники ACCEPT,
AYREON, SINNER, SLEEZE BEEZ, PAUL SABU, CASANOVA и WARLOCK)
записали реюнион-альбом "Back In The Ring". В конце декабря 2007
года свет увидел первый концертный альбом коллектива под названием
"Same, Same...But Different".

Vengeance is a Dutch metal band formed in 1983. Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the head of Ayreon and other progressive metal projects, played in the band since its beginning until 1992, when he left to pursue a solo career.

In the 80s VENGEANCE, have released classic albums like We Have Ways To Make You Rock,Take It Or Leave It and Arabia and launched the career of Arjen ‘’Ayreon’’ Lucassen and producer Oscar Holleman. 1997 saw the release of the album Back From Flight 19 , produced by Arjen “Ayreon” Lucassen and with good old Jan Somers and Peter ‘Peer’ Verschuren on guitars plus and nr. 1 bassplayer Barend Courbois and Paul Thissen (†) on drums. From 1997 till 2001 VENGEANCE was constantly on tour.

At the end of 2005 Barend Courbois, Leon Goewie and good friend German producer, singer and guitarist Michael Voss (Mad Max, Bonfire) recorded in collaboration with several guest musicians (Accept, Ayreon, Sinner, Sleeze Beez, Paul Sabu, Casanova and Warlock) the magnificent (loved by critics and fans worldwide) come-back album Back In The Ring. At the end of december 2007 the Dutch Hard Rockers released their first live album Same,Same...But Different, and on in January 2009, the new album Soul Collector will follow. On this record, which again was produced by Michael Voss, they prove that VENGEANCE is still one of the best live rock bands in Europe.
