[February/March 2008] Sanguinarian Context История группы Vampiria была инициирована в 1997 году в маленьком
городке Олаваррия, что в 400 километрах от аргентинской столицы,
Буэнос-Айреса. Музыканты исполняли doom/death с элементами heavy metal.
Общие установки творчества поменялись по причине вхождения в состав
команды клавишника – Vampiria вплотную подошла к тонкой границе,
разделяющей sympho black и dark-gothic metal. Таким образом
сформировался костяк аргентинской дружины: Konde – вокал, Ivan – бас,
Oswalth – гитары и клавишные, Johann V. – ударные + Elisa – клавишные
(живые выступления). Кроме основного мужского гроулинга Vampiria
использовала в своём творчестве женское сопрано, предоставленное
Даниэлой Исон, поучаствовавшей также в записи дебютника
южноамериканцев. Участники группы в интервью признались в том, что
прямое влияние на них Cradle of Filth отсутствует, но на каждого из
участников в какой-то мере оказали влияние совершенно различные
команды: как классические Pink Floyd, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Deep
Purple, так и ранние Metallica и Pantera, а также поздняя скандинавская
метал-сцена в лице Tiamat, Therion, Dimmu Borgir, Covenant, Emperor,

The story of Vampiria began in April 1997, in the small town of
Olavarría, 400 km south of Buenos Aires. Their style was a sort of
Doom/Death Metal with hints of traditional heavy metal. After a short
period of time a keyboard-player and a soprano enter the band, closing
its birth-sequence. This was a big change in the composition as well as
in their sound, having the chance to work with new solutions, and get
closer to symphonic black metal and dark-gothic metal.
They recorded a 4 song demo tape, "Legacy In Blood" with which they caught the attention of the label Icarus.
In
1999 they recorded the song "Grull Has Arrived" for the compilation cd
"Supernatural Extremities Vol. V," released by the Argentinian magazine
Grinder.
In April/May 2000 the band entered the studio "La Nave De Oseberg" to
record their debut album "Among Mortals," more than 53 minutes of
extremely passionate and stimulating music, with a very good production
and an amazing cover art designed once again by the wizards of Temno
UnArt (Fall Of The Leafe, Sorg, Arachnes etc.).
In December 2000, "Among Mortals" album has been edited in Argentina by "Icarus Records".
In March 2001, "Among Mortals" album has been edited (Digi-Pack version
with a bonus track) in Europe by "War Is Imminent Records" (Spain)
under licence of "Icarus Records".
May 2001, Demian (guitars & vocals) leaves Vampiria for personals reasons. // original
