A.R.G.
A.R.G., (standing for "Anarchy Rules Games" and subsequently "Ancient Rotten Graveyards"), respectable Thrashers from Kuusamo, Finland, had a keen enough humour to label themselves as "Reindeer Metal". An early line-up included Aku Raaska of NATIONAL NAPALM SYNDICATE as vocalist. Guitarist Vesa Säkkinen, bass player Jari Kelloniemi and drummer Pasi Takkula would be known for parallel membership of LYCANTROPHY. Oddly the B side to their debut 1988 single 'Aggressive Confessor' featured a song about a tractor, 'Massey Ferguson'. A demo, 'Heathenism In Penitentiary', followed that same year. The first album, 1989's 'Entrance', was produced by Mara Mäntyniemi and Ilari Niemelä. A second album, 'One World Without The End', was delivered through Megamania in 1991. A.R.G. returned in 1993, brandishing the eleven track demo 'Purged To Blaze Again', which notably included a cover version of CELTIC FROST's seminal 'Dethroned Emperor'. The 'Electro-Orgasm' promotional session followed up in 1994. A.R.G. vocalist / bassist Tepa Karjalainen was also known on the Finnish Metal scene for running the 'Epitaph' fanzine. Guitarist Vesa Säkkinen, re-billed as 'Wesleyer', founded PAIN CONFESSOR. original /link __________________________________
